1st Mobility car

I ordered my 1st mobility car yesterday, I am going to have a black vauxhall meriva, automatic of course and | am really exicted, it should be ready early next year and should cost 16k, I could never afford a car like that normally buit thankfully because I have a disability I can get one

As they say ‘every cloud has a silver lining’

i love my motability car.

like you i could never afford a new car and the 2nd hand ones were always needing attention.

so yes i’m lucky!

and with my blue badge i feel like royalty!

I toon love my blue badge Carol, it makes parking so much easier as the bays are bigger and usually close to the store when they have them available.

Raggamuffin, I got my Meriva auto 3 weeks ago & just love it  just about used to the push button handbrake oh and not leaving the back windows down - always manage to put them down for some strange reason! I too love my blue badge it makes such a difference - just don’t like the stares I get when I pull into a disabled spot!! They soon stop when they see my hubby getting my scooter out of the boot. Happy motoring x

It’s unfortunate that people judge you by the way you look, so if you don’t have a scooter or your not using a stick then your not eligible for the bay, have we got to wave these things in front of people. Enjoy your car and your blue badge x

hi, oh how lovely! A new car and just what you need to keep getting out and about.

I havent driven for 10 years. we have a campervan, but as my legs are non-responsive (oh thats a posh word for a wednesday afternoon) I cant drive it.

I have thought about those cars which can be driven from your wheelchair.

A new one, even on motability, would cost around £16 to adapt! I have looked at used ones, and if ever my hubby couldnt drive, I would consider buying one. Used ones cost around. £8k+.

Enjoy your new papap and keep safe.

luv Pollx

I took delivery of my first mobility car on friday a vauxhall insignia what a lovely car with plenty of boot space for wheelchair etc; My blue badge is invaluable thats the one thing I would not give up easily. I am just getting use to the new motor but it is lovely to have something to look forward to so like you all say there are some positives!!!
