You know you've got MS when.......

… you stop wearing belts on your trousers, for quicker access when you get to the loo!

when you fill the dish with washing up liquid, pour in the water, leave the dishes to soak and when you go back to wash them you find you forgot to put the plug in (as I have today!)

When you persistently swat that pesky insect that keeps landing on you, before remembering there is no insect. It’s just your pesky ailment humouring you. Yep, and the instantaneous ponderings on nearest location of toilets, wherever you are!

…when you see somebody in a wheelchair, or see someone walking strangely or see someone who just looks a bit different and you ask yourself ‘‘i wonder if they’ve got ms too?’’

When you talk about your toilet habits etc. as if everyone experiences going through the same thing.

When you watch a really good film and keep looking at the title and still forget what it is called when you tell people about it.

When you only go places that has flat floors and has easy access to the toilet.

… you ring ahead when planning a day out just to check that they do have plenty of toilets.

… you find the milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge.

… you have to hunt for a cup without a chip in it to give to guests.

… you use all your energy to cook something from freezer to oven, drop it on the floor, have no energy to cook again or go out for a takeaway so give up and go to bed in tears.

… find yourself laughing hysterically when the wind blows you off balance more than usual - I’m sure my new neighbours think I’m an alcoholic!!

… your best friend knows that you mean the exact opposite of whatever you’ve just said

You have a list as long as your arm of films you have watched halfway through. Two alarm clocks are still not enough to wake you. Your husband says he is going to get some catch mits for those ‘moments’ in doors. You look for the nearest leaning/grabbing point if you have to wait for something or someone. Sam x

When old people can walk better than you, (thats a stinker)

They tear past me at the moment

When your 8 year old niece asks “why do you walk like a zombie?!”
