Managed to get hold of the ms nurses at my hospital and had a lengthy phone call from one, she was so informative and helpful and she is putting my prescription in for rebif so I can start kicking this things ass!! She is also upping my fose of amitriptiline and referring me to a continence specialist for bladder issues! Pleased it’s all moving forward now! And fingers crosses to getting back to normal!
It’s great to hear some good news! I hope your back to ‘normal’ really soon. Good luck with the ass kickin’! Laura
morning both my hubby is struggling neurologist said at last appointment he didnt think ms was active trouble is hubbys symptoms have not go away in fact since last visit developed more symptoms. We believe neurologist is waiting until next visit to see if gone down hill or same before making diagnosis and giving drugs like rebif. He currently taking amitripiline but not having any benefit and on 50mg he even took 75mg and nothing no side affects no benefit.Do you know if there are any other pain relief tablets he could try.He is in so much pain it breaks my heart his spine hurts he struggles to walk he is going down hill fast.I keep crying got to pull myself together .Its so hard when you see someone you love going down hill p.s also registered blind 8th august 2013 its all going wrong.xxx julie

[/quote] Hi Julie, I did reply but it hasn’t shown for some reason. I’m pretty certain there are lots of meds that can be given for relief of symptoms, tell your hubby to speak to his gp. I know amitriptiline I usually oven to help people sleep? I’m sorry you’re husband is so unwell, but you have to remain positive for him, he’ll still be the same person you fell in love with an hopefully he can get som advice and help on how to manage his symptoms. Neuros and doctors don’t like diagnosing ms unless they are 100% sure so it can take a long time to get there. What gets has he had already and what did they neuro say? Keep smiling and remember to be positive! (: sarah Xxxx
