Worrying symptoms

Hi everyone,

I’m new. Not really sure if I should be on this forum or a forum for M.E. or some other place. My problem is that my doctors don’t seem to be taking my symptoms seriously. Or connecting them - looking at the big picture. I can never see the same doctor twice in a row - often locums - and that doesn’t help. I have had chronic fatigue for around 6 years. I have bowel problems, swallowing problems, chest cartilage pain and most worrying - really bad raynauds and numb hands at night in bed. The doctor doesn’t think I have carpal tunnel. I also have serious brain fog. I’m not really bad, my attendance at work is good, however I feel that I am not working ‘effectively’ for as much as 50% of the time and it is becoming more and more difficult to keep things ‘together’.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? How should I proceed. I worry I am going to ‘crack’ at some point. (Mentally and physically).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

J x

Hi Julie Welcome to the forum. I take it you have had some routine bloodwork done and that came back as normal? Kind regards Jonathan

Hiya! Have you seen a rehumatologist yet? If not, go to your GP and ask to be referred. Your symptoms sound rheumatoid, especially with raynauds - it’s normally a condition that is rheumatoid in nature and can be a symptom of another underlining condition. You should get a full blood screening done to check for any autoimmune problems. Definitely get to your gp and ask for a rehumatologist referral. GP’s arent equipt to look deeper into these things or run a blood screening. Hopefuly you will get some answers then. Take care

Thanks guys, Yes, just got blood results - all clear. I will insist on a follow up appointment and try to make a doctor listen and look at the whole picture. Thanks Julie

You have had this 6 years and still work. I think to be honest your symptoms are very non specific could be lots of things and this is the trouble. if it was MS it would have kind of done something by now if that makes sense. it would patternise itself.

a) you would be having relapses totally and then recovering RRMS.

b). Over time you would be worsening i.e. progressive in mobility PPMS.

You seem to be on the same or similar plateau which would suggest M.E. Although i am no doctor.

Maybe put all this on the back burner for now, and enjoy your life, go do things have fun whilst you can. thinking about it just stresses you out and you will feel worse.

If it is MS it will show itself when its ready to do so.

I hope that makes sense?

I am being honest dont waste your life away and stop googling lol. Eat healthy, exercise when you can and find something you can do which takes your mind off your issues. xxxx Its called mindfulness. https://everwideningcircles.com/circles/manage-stress-happiness-mindfulness/?gclid=CjwKCAiA1rPyBRAREiwA1UIy8Msd1kyIhUNLoRmqdhZicFM1AQ-szirEfZBAPKbF4Q5ycRMyMIsp1RoCXxsQAvD_BwE

Most of these issues come from something has happened to you. so cast your mind back six years what happened?

My daughter for example, had pnuemonia then had a bad break up with her husband then came out gay. a few months later she was bedridden literally couldnt get out of bed for 12 months. I knew she loved horses so we my husband and I bought her a young colt to work with. That was over 10 years ago now and she rides all the time now, and runs her own business.

I hope you can see what I am saying. xxx
