Woke up with a strange feeling in my arm, any comments welcome.

Not yet diagnosed, still waiting on first Neuro appointment for possible MS.

I woke up this morning with burning pain and tightness in the trapezius muscle in my left shoulder. The pain starts around the back of the left side rib cage, up around the shoulder blade, into my neck and up the left side of my face, pain behind the left eye and a slight headache. My face feels like I am tensing the muscle up as if scrunching up my face but I’m not, it looks normal.

The fingers on my left hand keep twitching and my left arm feels weak.

Could this be neurological or could I just have slept on it at a funny angle?

I’ve been up for a few hours now and it hasn’t eased off, if anything the tightness is worse.

Yes, it could be neurological and it could also be that you’ve slept awkwardly. It can be really hard to tell sometimes :frowning:

If it’s neurological, it could have multiple causes too, but there’s no way to tell which one without tests and trying different treatments (e.g. if it was migraine, it would respond to migraine meds).

If it gets worse or you get scared, then go to A & E. Otherwise, it’s probably best to see your GP on Monday.

I hope it gets better soon.
