Poll I’m pretty sure you can get a haircut on board, they have salons I think…
yeh, you can get your hair cut in salons on board…you can be pummled, waxed, hot stoned, manicured, pedicured and owt else you fancy…as long as it`s legal I guess…but then, if you are at sea, owt could be legal eh? Hahahahaha!
The poster who mentioned hair cut, was wishing she could get her`s cut on line!

Silly me, story of my life, remember important things, just not always in the right context or the right person…on line haircuts do sound pretty good
enjoy your planning until it comes round x
sokay chuck. we do get muddled at times....I
m no exception! I often read to quick and miss certain points. I blame being 63 and nerve damaged!!!

We did look at those short Southampton to Southampton cruises. (Unlucky for you to be so far away, Southampton’s only an hour away for me.) I think Guernsey is one of the ports where you can’t get off. But I suspect you’ll be treated like royalty on board anyway.
Have fun planning, deciding what clothes (handbags!) to take, and looking forward to it.

Hi Poll,
Thanks. Unfortunately my dad died last year. We had some great holidays together though, before he went to the big pub in the sky. He loved being with his family and friends. I miss him very much indeed.
Sorry Poll I didn’t mean to imply I only like to go to one place, although this next trip to Mexico will be my sixth
I would really like to go on a cruise but when I’ve costed them they do seem very expensive and if I’m honest I’m a little bit scared of such vast oceans

Poll someone at my MS group was talking about a great disabled friendly hotel in Llandudno just this week, I’ll have to ask him the name next time I see him. I’m going to Llandudno on a national coach trip with my mum in January something tells me it’ll be cold

Hubby going with me, going from Southampton, so we’ll drive there and use the parking there, so we’ll be ok should we dock early or late, rather than booking trains and missing them, once you’ve travelled with Cunard once you get some good offers. We were invited to the commodore’s cocktail party on the NY to Southampton, we did the QM2 as my hubby’s retirement treat and as I had always wanted to do the big 3 ( Concorde,QM2 and Oreient Express) just Orient Express left as I won a trip on Concord plus 3 days in NY, I had the winning duck in a duck race for Children in Need! only down side was that as it was a radio Bedford comp, the DJ who organised it went too! he works for Al Jazzera now, but at the time had not travelled much and didn’t think it would be cold in NY in February! so we ended up having to pretty much look out for him for 3 days, amazingly (to me) he went on to become a BBC New York corrrespondent! New York, February and he hadn’t taken a coat, so we spent quite some time shopping for one that he liked and could afford, no BBC expenses!..and just don’t ask about the Pink Poodle!

Hi Jan, I have booked 4 nights at a new hotel in Llandudno…for next June. Its run by Safehands (theyve got the New Mayfair) in Blackpool. It
s called The Esplanade.
Cheers, Pollx
Hi Sue, I have a fad for clutch bags…for .evening cruising…I bought a grey sparkly one in a sale, then got a snakeskin one and a black/gold/silver one and a red one in charity shops. I get quite giddy looking at clutch bags!!!
Living close to the cruise port, a 2 nighter hop would be a tonic/quick fix for a cheer up. Were doing a 3 nighter, which yeh, goes to Guernsey, but I wont be able to disembark. But I
m sure the views will be fab.
I`m trying to arrange an accessible taxi for when we get to Zeebrugge, to get us into Bruges. My travel agent (Disabled Cruise Club) is checking that out for me. She said sometimes P & O do an accessible excursion. But seeing as they have quite a few disabled cabins, wouldnt you think there would be more accessible excursions from the ship?
You know, I could chuffin sort out a lot of the difficulties we face as wheelchair users. Yeh, I know I coud… in a trice!
No-one puts Boudica in a corner!!!
luv Pollx
I remembered your thing for clutch bags. I’m sure you can manage at least 3 different clutches on a short cruise!
I laughed at your last comment. Only this week I had my first (probably my only) chance to say ‘no one puts Baby in a corner’! it was said to the physio at my FES clinic appointment. She had just suggested that my husband (6’1" and not at all baby like) sit on the chair in the corner. I was so proud of myself.
