I have seen several videos of MS recoveries with Stem cell treatment, some having chemo therapy before hand (to reset the immune system)
There seems to be stem cell availability in the US but not in the UK
Does anyone know of anywhere i can get the cheamo / stemcell treatment
if its very expensive how would one get on a stem cell trial?
thanks
Right now, there is nowhere that you can get stem cell treatment from a reliable source.
Yes, you can get treatment in the US and Europe (and probably other places as well) but do you know what you are getting.
No sooner was it announced that stem cells looked like a possible treatment for MS than the treatment was available at a price.
You could get then treatment in Holland - and it turned out that the cellular material had come from cows.
Current research thinking is to harvest cells from the patient, prepare them and then reinject (or whatever) the cells into a different place. Such research is taking place in several centres in the UK - you could search this forum to start, and then try for some hits from Google - but if you don’t live close to a centre, I would not get your hopes up. If you are within (say) an hour from a centre, then you can search again with the name of the University concerned and the words “stem-cells” and “MS”, and you should get the name of the lead researcher. A letter to that person asking when they will be calling for experimental participants should get you the information you want.

I would go to youtube and watch videos on MS and stems cells and see if you can find anyone walking up stairs quickly, skipping etc after stem cells.
Also read up on side effects, infection rates and does it actually work.
They was selecting for the next phase trials 3 months ago people was being put forward via their MS nurse.
Anon,
Theres a facebook page, titled below. Have a look and make your own mind up as I have. We are not all doubting Thomas’s.
Sadly we are no longer the pioneers that some people like to think we are in the UK anymore. Some countries have been perfroming hsct for 20 years for cancer patients.
