WHERE are you??

It s PROBABLY me being stupid but does this forum have a feature that tells you where members are in the world. Just thought it useful, to see if some have better care, waiting times etc. For example when you read that someone is experiencing the same level of incompetance care as you. You could check their profile and see that they live in the Midlands etc.

The thing about forums like this is that many people feel much happier being more anonymous. This doesn’t always mean answering posts anonymously, it can just be as simple as not wanting to be easily identified. It helps many people to be completely honest about some rather sensitive subjects. So there’s no shortcut to geographic location.

That Sue makes perfect sense, I’d not thought about it like that. xx

well if it’s any help, i’m happy to start the ball rolling.

i’m in bolton and i attend salford royal and breightmet clinic to see my consultant and ms nurse.

And I should have said, I’m in West Sussex, I attend hospitals all over, from Haywards Heath, to Chichester, Shoreham and Worthing.

(So many different specialists!)

Sue

I live on the Fylde Coast in the North West, started off attending Blackpool Victoria Hospital but then they relocated the Neurology department to Preston Royal where I now go, albeit rather infrequently.

I’m in Somerset my gp referred me to Musgrove hospital in Taunton but for some reason they placed me in Yeovil.

I’m in Epsom, Surrey.

I’ve got an excellent MS Nurse and a great GP who ā€œjust does what the MS Nurse saysā€.

Epsom hospital has all of the specialist departments I have needed in the last seven years.

I’m not that bothered about anonymity. Once MS arrives you leave your dignity behind; and you never get it back.

We can put our location on our profiles, if we wish to.

Im in Elland West Yorkshire and go to Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax. Ive also been to Huddersfield Royal.

Agree with that. It would be good to just have a geographical area shown. I’m in the Irish Republic and have to remember that there is a difference in the HSE/NHS etc when I’m rabbiting on.

Didn’t know I can put that in my profile Poll. I’ll go and try that now.

Doh.

Have set the time zone to Dublin, but can’t see how to do anything else really. Can’t even find how to do an Avatar. :-/

  • Well I’m in the s/west of scotland.won’t even attempt to say which village as you

I’m half Scottish Rosie. All my family on mum’s side live in Scotland, so I might be able to pronounce it. xx

rosie - would it be ecclefechan?

my sons used to read place signs when we were driving anywhere.

a couple of 10 year olds getting really giddy saying ecclefechan was a treat!

by the way it’s a beautiful place as is scotland in general.

My mother is Welsh. We didn’t even try to pronounce place names when we visited her cousins in Machynlleth.

  • Is called AUCHINLECK.as for the one u said that’s a bit away from here…in fact hubby s dad got a border terrier from there…

I can change the time-zone of your account, if you’d like me to? Unfortunately adding your location is on the ā€˜edit profile’ page which is currently not working/loading at the moment, hopefully be fixed soon though.

Oliver

Time zone isn’t the problem Oliver, thank you. Just need the"edit profile" fixed please.

I’m in Wigan (North West England), I attend an MS Therapy centre in Wigan and my Neurologist and MS nurse are based at Salford Royal Hospital.

Juls

Wotcha,

I am in West Sussex and have attended various hospitals in the area but to see a neurologist I trust I go to Kings College Hospital (NHS) in London
