Went for my blood test

Today i went for a blood test, ive been putting it off for a bit… so today was the day. It wasn’t for anything exciting just iron stores and other things like the menopause…i mean come on, how can a blood test tell if i’m turning into a grumpy old woman…they’d be better asking Lee!

Well it was a good day apart from being more wobbly than normal…they took too much blood… I enjoyed being out in the spring air and the beautiful sunshine…its funny how just being outside can improve you mood. Everybody i met was so nice today. The nurse taking my blood gave me a big hug and the receptionists at Frodsham medical practise were falling over themselves to stroke Frazer, he even made one cry…she had lost her dog and she was overcome with emotion when stroking him and asking what he does for me… Hmmm he thought, “far too much”, i had him loading the washing machine this morning…he’ll do anything for a doggy treat.

Its amazing the difference having him has on people when we are out…People are so nice. In Morrisons one of the shoppers loaded my shopping on the till and packed it all…Frazer was desperately trying to take it off her…“that’s my job” his eyes said. The amount of compliments he gets never ceases to amaze me. He has a purple jacket that says " Please do not distract " but i really struggle to enforce it. I try my hardest and many people realise he’s a working dog but we get a few that just stroke him without asking…oh dear I thought, its good job Canine Partner staff didnt see, as one old lady made such a massive fuss we nearly ended up with the Morrisons freezer door shutting on us…oh well i try to tell them but i just couldn’t bring myself to tell that old lady, she looked so happy…and at the end of the day Frazer has to have a few perks of the job.

Aw, so lovely, of course he needs some perks. But bless him, it’s so sweet but he must love pleasing you most of all

Now you see, when people (not many thankfully) say that the disabled are useless etc, it’s worthwhile remembering that the whole human race and our animal friends have to share this planet and we all know that feeling useful and helpful is good for us. So, you went to give blood and all the joy that you shared (well not you exactly but fabulous Fraser) helped everybody else. The lady who lost her dog, all the people who fussed him, the old lady, they will all be a little happier for seeing you both. And happiness is good for you.

this probably sounds mushy and silly, but I’ve had doors held open for me by people who need help themselves (not assuming, it was where we were), and I do believe that everyone helps in their own way which in turn makes people feel a little better surely.

Hi Michelle

well at least your blood test is out the way, over and done with, and I think your Fraser is a star, putting a smile on everyone’s face wherever he goes.
