For the last 3 days I have been feeling some unusual sensations in various patches of skin.
There are patches on my shins, feet, backs of my hands, forearms, back and face (mainly around my forehead and chin).
It’s hard to describe what I’m feeling because the feeling seems to change and come and go/change location.
I’m aware of the patches of skin even when they feel numb but they also range from tingly, hot, cold and sometimes even wet.
It really is just the odd patch here and there but sometimes it seems to spread and cover more area.
I’ve read that a few of you have experienced areas of numbness and tingling but I didn’t think the patches of numbness would be so widespread. I thought it would be concentrated to one area.
Does anyone else experience this so widely?
This type of thing would not normally happen in MS. In MS, it would be numb hands or a numb left leg, etc. and that numbness would be there all the time (although the severity might vary a wee bit during the day / from day to day).

Hi,
I have been experiencing similar symptoms for a couple of weeks now…I have a patch on my left cheek which sometimes feels numb, also feel like I am dribbling and my face feels wet, but it isn’t! The latest symptom is my left shin feeling freezing cold, but it is warm to touch.

I get odd tingling numb sensations on the left side of my face, left arm and left leg, but also started to get cold patch’s on my left calf, almost like my leg is leaning on a cold fridge door.
One I forgot to mention…the sole of my left foot feels really sore, but nothing there, doesn’t look red, but very painful.

I get painful patch’s too, middle fingers and little finger plus toes and middle of foot, it comes and goes. the most painful thing are the sharp stabbing pains, which are regular on left side but now and again I get them on the right side. the other night I woke up to the feeling somebody had just put an electric cattle prod on my left hip bone, I did whince. Whats really annoying and not painful are the muscle tightening in my left arm and hand and in both upper leg muscles, when it starts, I can’t stop it.
Hi, I’m not sure if this will help at all but I find it fascinating and it explained for me why my numbness didn’t follow ‘straight lines’. As I understand it ms OR other spinal inflammation, would effect the nerve route and thus the whole dermatone. If it is peripheral neuropathy, the sensory nerve is effectred somewhere after it leaves the CNS, which would point away ftom ms or any cns involvement as it is really important to remember lots of other ghings effect your cns that aren’t ms. apparelyzed.com
