Hi everyone,
I’ve been lurking for a few days.
Where to start…I’ve been referred to see a neurologist after seeing my GP. I listed the symptoms I had and he said he wanted to refer me to see a neurologist.
Lots of the symptoms I have I have shrugged off as either peri-menopause, Long Covid or just the joys of getting older but have realised through either conversations with family/friends or looking at my medical records that some symptoms have been there pre Covid etc.
I’m currently sat swatting my legs as it feels like my skin and hair is moving (always worse on an evening). I have hand and feet tingling, predominantly left leg pain muscle pain and hot bones!?!. Weakness in my limbs (feel shaky like when you’ve over exerted yourself). I also have a feeling like walking on sponge (best way I can describe it) and what I call slow motion eye sight- if I turn my head it’s like my vision is slightly delayed and catches up later and random eye pain. I have felt ‘water’ trickling down my back and drops splashing on my feet.
I feel like I have sensory issues as clothes irritate me that never did before and I struggle in crowded spaces as I don’t feel quick enough/able to move out of people’s way. Being warm drains me and I am always tired- I fall asleep almost instantly and wake up stiff and unable to move for a few minutes. No matter how much I sleep I am still tired. I have had a sleep study which has ruled out sleep apnea and am on the waiting list for follow up tests as I fall asleep sat at the dining table!
I feel clumsy and uncoordinated and seem unable to navigate my bedroom in the dark anymore- spacial awareness is out of wack.
I feel I have moaned on way too long - sorry!
I just want answers and am dreading being told this is “just Long Covid” as it is miserable and I feel like a diagnosis of something would be better than being left to rot with Long Covid.
Thanks for listening to me moan.
