Numb/tingling for 5 days

Hi everyone,

I hope you don’t mind me posting in here asking for some advice, I’ve been scrolling through the forum a lot for the past few days and trying to make sense of some new and strange feelings in my body.

I woke up on Monday night with a painful and numb big toe on my left side, very odd but the feeling came back after walking around. I’ve since had some constant and strange muscle movement and tingling in my right left calf and foot, particularly when resting. My feet get pins and needles whilst sleeping but again, after walking around they just return to a tingling feeling. I’ve also had some numbness in my hands but this could be from spending 12 hours a day on my phone trying to find out what’s wrong with me!

im yet to have any other symptoms but it really does feel like something strange is going on in my body. Petrified to go to hospital for the fear of picking up COVID and also spreading to my elderly parents.

I wondered if anyone had a good route to help get some kind of diagnosis rather than being passed around whilst whatever this condition I have, worsens. I had a similar diagnosis nightmare with a spontaneous cranial CSF leak several years ago which I eventually managed to diagnose through a lot of pushing and had surgically repaired.

I went to a and e when my symptoms first kicked off and they basically sent me packing as it was only sensory, so could have been anything such as a slipped disk etc. Waited for a nhs referral to a neuro, but in the end I had to go private. I think that you still need to start with your GP though and if taking this route, would suggest ringing a good nuerologist that also works NHS. That way, if they fidn something wrong with you that needs further investigation, they can switch you over. I’m no expert, but just taking from my own experience. Good luck. I know it’s easier said than done but self diagnosing will drive you potty

Sorry, I meant ‘finding’ a good nuerologist, not ringing. If your in London, there a plenty I think. Normally, the advice would be to look for an MS specialist but hard to say in your case as it may not be anything to do with MS
