Vitamins and/or supplements?

Excuse me if this has been asked before… Are there any recommended vitamins you should takeafterbeing diagnosed with RRMS? I was in Hollands and Barrett’s shop today and got so confused by the number of choices that I had to leave! Andy FB: Redirecting... YT: youtube.com/user/andyandms

Hello there,it may be worth a trip to your GP to get your Vitamin D level checked.A few of us on here take it,some of us a little longer in the game than you.If he/she/it asks why,you could say that there is some evidence to support the use of it.I’ve been taking it for six weeks now and have noticed some positive effects.

[/quote] Thanks, so far I’ve got D3, calcium, magnesium and fish oils on my list. Does anyone have a preferred place to get them? Andy FB: Redirecting... YT: youtube.com/user/andyandms

lf you google vitamin d3 deficiency ms - also vitamin b12 deficiency ms you will get lots of info that will help you. And another site is ‘Could it be B12’ an epidemic of misdiagnosis’. Magnesium MS

l get my supplements via amazon - Healthy Origins vitd3 softgels 360 5.000ius or 10.000ius - usually p&p free and very quick delivery - about £15 for a years supply. Vitd3 helps the body absorb calcium from your diet - magnesium is recommended as a good supplement to take with vitd3.

lf your GP will test your vitd3 level - then it should be at least 150nmols - up to 225nmols. Many GP’s are still unaware of all the latest research that has been done on these vits for people with ms. l hope yours will be better informed then most - so it is vital that you become your own expert. Thats been my experience and l have had ms for 30yrs.

Welcome to the site Andy

Thanks F I should have searched amazon first! Thanks for the nudge  I’ll check with the GP, you’re not the first to tell me so I’ll bet on that his week… Andy FB: Redirecting... YT: youtube.com/user/andyandms

Hi I have recently been diagnoised with RR MS. I am currently taking vitamin D3,garlic capsules (more to keep colds and flu away),omega 3, probiotic capsules, green tea and vitamin c & zinc… Probably tell am trying to keep myself in tip top condition and seem to be doing the trick. I get my vitamins from a company called natures best. They are a good site my hubbie buys all the tables from there. Hope that helps jammy Ps I am starting to drink fruit and veg juices too.

Hey jamflan saw you were taking garlic capsules and just wanted to share my knowledge. I was on garlic capsules daily and my doctor advised me to come off them - apparently they can overstimulate your immune system which is not a good thing in ms - especially when taking vitamin c at the same time. Just thought I would share my knowledge with you

Hi Karina, Thank you very much for that information. I shall stop that ASAP… Glad I put that on the thread. Thank u
