Hi,
I’ve never taken B12, but I did notice it was tested in one of my recent blood tests. Do you have any recent-ish blood results? It might show if your B12 levels were normal.
I am one of the many of us who were tested for B12 deficiency while they were working out what was the matter with me, and found to be low, so I’ve been on B12 injections every 3 months ever since. Would I still be vitamin B12 deficient without them? No idea. But if you are deficient, as many people with MS seem to be, you might benefit from being topped up. Why don’t you ask your GP?
Hi Bouds
I take a B12 oral spray 4x a day. I don’t know if it works, as in, makes me feel healthier, but my blood tests now show B12 level as normal. No point taking vitamins if your levels are already good because the body will just wash out the surplus, so ideally, get a full blood MoT first before splurging cash on vits you may not need.

Hi,
I have a B12 injection every 8 weeks and it definitely helps, am regularly tested to make sure blood is ok ie, not too much b12, but it certainly seems to help, whether that is physiological or not i don’t know but tbh I don’t care, if it helps and does no harm then I would ask your GP xx
Hi. I have B12 injection monthly now on advice of neurologist (used to be 3 monthly). It helps with pins and needles in hands and feet. I know when I’m due as I start dropping things.
I’ve taken a VitB complex for years and more recently replaced it with B12. No idea if it’s helping but i tend to cover all bases ( so long as it’s not harmful)
My neurologist (and previous 3 I’ve seen in my long MS life) says B12 levels need to be higher than a GP would generally sanction. I used to have injections every six weeks, but a new GP stopped them. I now find I can take an oral supplement which keeps my level high enough. A lot less fuss this way.
