I have to say, the cultural icons are dropping like flies this year, Lemmy, lovely Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Ronnie Corbett, and now Victoria Wood, I’ve probably missed a few out they’re going so fast. And quite a lot of them very young, Victoria Wood was only 62. Whoever will be next, every time a news alert comes up on my phone or iPad I wonder who has died now!

The year started badly with the loss of David Bowie, then, Terry Wogan, Ronnie Corbett and now Victoria Wood. All fantastic irreplaceable entertainers. Love them all!
What joy and laughter she brought us all. My daughter text me to say she was in floods of tears when she heard Victoria Wood had died. We loved all of her work. Especially - ‘bend me over backwards on the hostess trolley’ Lets do it!
Totally gutted, it’s a huge shock she was one of my favourites, I used to have a friend called Kimberly, you can just imagine me talking about her “my friend Kimberley”
I’ve often described my walking when my backs been hanging off as I’m back to walking like “two soups”
I was once told that I should take up writing because someone thought I said things that Victoria Wood might say, I was unbelievably flattered, but didn’t believe it for one moment.
She obviously had a big influence on me.
adorable
R.I.P.
A very talented lady.
What’s happening all the talented people seem to be going, or is it that we are all growing old.
Ronin.
Most of them seem to be in a certain age bracket and the rest seem to have been victims of the dreaded C.
Two Soups…pure genius. RIP Victoria Wood
Everyone - do look at Victoria Woods Step Aerobics on youtube. We deserve cheering up - so do look at it - and join in of course. l bet she loved doing this - the blonde wig and pink leotard a ‘must have’.
Strangely, yesterday - before l had heard that she had sadly died - l was at my Tai Chi class - [with my rollator] - and we were doing a hand/arm movement which is called ‘bowls of soup’ - and l did say ‘two soups’ in a Julie Walters fashion - which of course was written by Victoria.
I know, what a rotten shock to learn of Victoria’s passing. So sad, a wonderfully funny lady!.

RIP

Very, very sad,I had just ordered a DVD of That day we sang, it was the best thing on TV a couple of Christmases ago, I really hope this will be made into a stage musical and have thought so since I first saw it, it would be a fitting tribute!
Just watched her doing step aerobics very funny thank you for the link so reminded me of the time when I could do a step class . I do remember that the teacher of the class I went too it was a male teacher and he was very good looking and had the tightest bottom you could wish to watch going up and down in a step class, oh happy days .

I watched the 90 minute programme on tv last night about her work.
2 soups
is up there with 4 candles
…hilarious.
My sis was sleeping over last night. She went into the kitchen to get me a movicol (oh the joys of a stubborn bowel!) and came back in with a towel down the back of her neck, a pinny round her waist, hunched back, legs locked together and with a toothy grin…well we fell about laffing…she looked so like that decrepit waitress!

I saw the last half hour of the special on Victoria Wood, such a phenomenal talent; your Chris sounds such a laugh Poll.
