Vertigo After Jogging

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced vertigo after exercising? My MS nurse suggested this could be an inner ear issue as opposed to a relapse but getting to see my GP is proving impossible for the next two weeks so thought I’d ask if anyone has had something similar in the meantime. I’m fine when I’m running and then I stop and have about 15-20 minutes of quite bad vertigo.

Thanks!

Z

Could well be an inner ear issue or crystal displacement issue in your ears. Always worth trying the exercises to put those crystals back in place, if indeed that is the problem.

Thank you ! I’ll have a look at this .

I’m presuming it is vertigo proper, rather than dizziness or light-headedness? Those exercises are for vertigo.

In my 20s for a while I would get dizziness for about half-an-hour after exercise (hockey matches in my cases). I never knew the actual cause, but it could have been low blood sugar levels, dehydration or a drop off of blood pressure, or perhaps all three. I think it was probably primarily low blood pressure causing it. Breathing and heart rate drop back down to resting level but the blood vessels take longer. Around that time I did have orthostatic blood-pressure issues too, which would suggest that. Over a number of years both slowly seemed to resolve themselves.
