Good afternoon,
I may have to become a carer soon for my sister who has advanced MS. I have no idea about the benefits, carers, and accommodation that my sister may be entitled too.
I have read that Support Brokers can be employed to give advice and I wondered if anyone has used a Support Broker and if they found it useful.
Many thanks.
Hi Sundisk. I hadn’t heard of support brokers so can’t offer any experience /advice. I wonder if contacting the MS Society helpline ( details on the website) might be of help in both getting info and advice on services, benefits etc and any advice on support brokers?
Hi Hank, thank you very much for replying and sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The MS Society Helpline hasn’t heard of Support Brokers either. I origionally saw a refernce to Support Brokers here: A short guide on brokerage and the role of brokers in relation to social care | Disability Rights UK but have since noticed that the page is dated Nov. 2013. I tried the telephone number given but no reply. Perhaps Support Brokers no longer exist. Thanks again.
