twitches and tremors- new thing for me - anyone else get this?

im slowly getting used to twitches all over my body and tremors in my legs, but recently a twitch inbetween my thumb and index finger on my left hand has started making my index finger jerk about. it kinda stops when i do something but not always. this has never happened before and is almost as disturbing as when il get a random burning pain in my thigh then my foot and lower leg will shoot out. is this me being odd or has anyone else experienced it? it keeps doing it for about a week now with short breaks inbetween and its freaking me out :frowning:

Yes I have the same thing, not been dx . Was told my MRI was non specific, and to wait and see. So really dont know what or why these things are happening.

Hello yes I have been suffering with spasms or what you call twitches and tremors in my hands for some time

I have not had a dx yet by the way neuro in 2 weeks, I also get burning pains in my legs, and sometimes cannot feel

my feet, the tremors could be benign intentional tremors so I have been told I hope you get sorted soon

all the very best Andy

It’s pretty common I’m afraid, and happens in all sorts of things too, not just MS.

My daughter used to have exactly that same thing as your finger - turned out she was B12 deficient.

thanks for your replies everyone, another thing (sorry), my index finger now seems to be more curved over and after its been twitching for a while its starting to ache - anyone? earlier i took the iron plug out and it just fell out of my hand i didnt even feel it go. i cant remember now if it was the treacherous twitching one or not. thanks for the heads up about b12 karen, tho im guessing it would have shown up on the blood test if i was low? hmm benign intentional tremors, hope not! mine seems to play more so when my hand is at rest but is starting to do it when im holding stuff, could be some broken cups coming soon i guess :frowning:

Hi J,

I get muscle twitches too, legs mostly but also my left arm and tummy have started to join in occasionally but I’m mostly interested in the bit I’ve quoted above - my right leg does this, it feels hotter and hotter, tighter and tighter then is released in a jerky kick. It’s quite different to the myoclonic jerks which can come out the blue as it’s more sustained and builds up more.

Can you describe yours?

Thanks, Debx

Hi Deb,

Erm i’ll try, its kinda like i said burning sensation, also kinda itchy and uncomfortable, then it just goes. If I move it before it moves itself it usually doesn’t do it, but sometimes I just twitch anywhere without prior warning. I can get leg jerking with no prior warning, also head jerking and hands. Erm does that help? sorry its just so hard to describe!

Hi jules the benign intentional tremors if thats what it may be usually occur when doing thing arms out, can be controlled by beta blockers and other medication

I am on betas for my heart, I usuall have Cobalin B12 injections every 3 months, so for me this could be one reason worth mentioning to your doctor/neuro
