Hope you are now properly on the mend after your recent flu.
No parties at mine either - I’ve got one of the latest bugs, not Covid, not flu, but a nasty cold type thing that came with a temperature and conjuntivitis and water taps on my nose that are now pouring loads of gunk! My temperature is now back to normal, and definitely on the mend. Most of my neighbours have variations on this, and most of my friends too, so I think it is going to be very quiet all round.
There is a walrus at the harbour in Scarborough.
Now I would like to go and see that tomorrow if he is still there. He looks how I feel!

Happily the walrus is safely back where he belongs…I was concerned for him. He must’ve lost his way, bless him.
I have heard of others getting a bad cold along with conjunctivitis. I am still arguing with a chesty cough…but am on the road to recovery. It’s taken some beating.

Sadly I didn’t get to see him. But it is nice to know he’s on his way. He’s obviously a bit of a traveller! We do have a lot of sea porpoises close to the harbour, and we often get bottlenose dolphins too. Maybe he decided the harbour was safe because of them. There are much more remote locations he could have hauled out on. The town council cancelled the New Years Eve firework display so as to not frighten him! Wonder if he will show up again a bit further up the coast.

He’s now up in Northumberland 70 miles north, and lolling around on a jetty up there. Too far for me to travel. He does seem to like human made structures, perhaps because they are flattish, like ice floes, so make more comfortable beds!
