If you go to the MS nurse I wouldn’t mind betting that they suggest you go to the dentist! I’d go to the dentist, but don’t mention your ms because it gives them a get out and the minute they think they can send you somewhere else they will. Unless you go privately of course, in which case they’ll probably do x-rays and charge you outrageously for the pleasure
Are you a teeth Grinder? I’m really bad and sometimes it gives me a really stiff jaw.
Hi TeddyBear1, I have spasticity in parts of my body, one of which is in my jaw area, more so when I go to bed and I’m sleeping, which makes it look like I’m grinding my teeth, when I not, so the dentist suggested I wear a night bite guard, which is just like a gum shield, this helps the side of my tongue and cheek from getting what look like bite marks on them. I do take Baclofen, but this doesn’t stop this happening. My husband a retired dental technician and before I saw the dentist this is he recommended as well.
Good luck and take care,
Jean
thank you for your replies. It was a really strange one. Its gone now so no idea what is was. Went to the dentist yesterday but already ok.
Has your ms affected the Trigeminal nerves? As I suffer with Trigeminal neuralgia, but the left side of my face feels tight and pulled down which causes pain ans discomfort when opening my mouth . It’s just an idea, and I hope you’ve found some relief.
