symptoms of ms

HI everyone. I have not been diagnosed with M.S. My Doctor is sending me for an M.R.I. scan. My symptoms include, tiredness, fatigue, floppy arms(the need to lie down) Wake up in the night with pins and needles and numbness in my arms, sometimes my legs and my face. I also have a neck/shoulder/lower back injury from a car accident years ago so it could be related to that(nerve impingmenet). I work as a busy staff nurse and enjoy gym classes? dancing but finding them a struggle lately. Anyone got any ideas? Can’t believe how tired i can be and it comes in waves. I can wake up ok but it hits me without warning. Does it sound familiar?

I would appreciate any replies.

Thank you

Tracy

I too haven’t been diagnosed yet either & I am also a staff nurse.I had a review app today regarding all my symptoms numbness etc (a page full of symptoms) lol. That started last June and was basically told to watch and wait (he told me that 7 months ago too) as he could not pin point what it was. Im not sure if he is using this watch and wait phrase because he hopes it blows over or because he doesn’t know what it is. If he did Id rather he would give me some idea.I had a brain and spine MRI and there was no lesions. Although I do have protruding discs in neck and loss of space in thoratic area but he feels these wouldn’t cause the symptoms. He mentioned at the last app I may need an LP. I reminded him today but he isnt doing one yet. I went to the app today with the hope I would know a bit more about what is causing them but I am no further forward. Im frustrated and emotional about it. suppose I have to bare in mind he never mentioned Ms to me at any app. It was friends and work colleagues…but Im not stupid either. I need a bit of patience I think and also reassurance loll xx Tracy…my advice to you would be to track/document all your symptoms and keep pushing to ensure u get MRI quick and referral to neuro. Good luck & take care x

HI. Thankyou for you kind reply.Sorry to hear about your frustration. It sounds like the medical team do not want to label people so quickly with M .S. Maybe because there is so many symptoms. m.y g.p did not mention it to me either but I have not had any investigations into my shoulder neck pain(intermittent burning pain that flares up) he probably thought it was a good idea to do an mri scan. Just waiting for my apt. I know i’m not right.I can just tell in my every day activities, work, gym classes and the pain in my neck/shoulder done not help. I have had no blood tests or lumber puncture.

Its ironic we are both nurses, ? work related problems.lol. I don’t want it to be M.S. just want to know why I.m feeling this way. I have been reading some other symotoms on here and one guy mentioned a ‘buzzing’ in his trouser pocket like his phone vibrating. I have been getting that for a while but not had it recently. I have since before christmas had the numbness, pins and needles in my arms and it wakes me up loads.

Hopefully we will both get sorted and I hate this ragdoll feeling when it comes on.Keep me posted on how you get on. I have the feeling it is going to be a long drawn out affair!

Take care

Thank you for your reply. I hope we both get to the bottom of our problems.

Take care

I was in a conversation a few weeks back and we were all nurses too lol! I wonder what the health service is doing to us?? Yea it’s gona be a long haul I reakon. You may have prolapsed discs? A colleague of mine is off atm with prolapsed discs in her neck which causes numbness down her arms, neck pain and headaches…I suppose all will be revealed after your MRI. Hopefully not too long. Take care xx
