Symptoms after first vaccine

Hi,

I had my first COVID-19 vaccination yesterday morning, the Oxford one, and it has pretty much knocked me sideways! I appreciate there are side effects when having it, but I couldn’t manage working today, slept till 11.30am, still in bed now and wanting more sleep!

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar reaction?

Hi, im sorry you are not feeling well. I had the pfizer vac and i felt fine although im currently not on any medication

Hi, I`m sorry to hear the vaccine has had such an effect on you. I have heard it caused a high fever, listlessness and a headache.

Hope you pick up soon.

Thanks.

I’m not on any either, but have been on tysabri and lemtrada. I’m on the waiting list for ovrevus.

Had the AZ one on Monday - sore arm - felt crap yesterday (Thursday) - better today.

Thanks for letting me know this. Good to know I’m not alone!

this is an important thread actually, as MS patients i dont believe were tested for oxford or any other vaccine.

I had mine thursday after 1pm, felt ok no issues. Friday they started achey arm and then burning on fire felt awful i checked my temp it wasnt high but was up for me. Mine is usually around 36.4, this was 37.3 (not a fever). the hike in temp internally i believe exacerbated my symptoms. I felt awful like flu, achey vile. I went to bed at 5pm and took some pain killers, slept until 10 still felt rough and temp up a bit still. slept until 3am and all normal again. but i still feel like i have had something. I even checked my urine lol.

My daughter told me where she works several care workers who had it had to take 2 days off with the effects. high temp, acehy, arm pain and headache. my daughter said the reason why you get reaction is the immune system is working.

well good for it. I just hope today is a better day. I ate ok though just felt rank.

cant say i am on top form but i quite often wake up feeling like this anyway. tinnitus and tingling and burning legs.

My SIL had very bad arm but nothing else. some people dont get symptoms.

i had oxford as well.

I think the issue for me is the internal temp going up as i suffer with heat intolerance. i couldnt get my body regulated last night i just felt like i had the worse temp but it was pretty normal.

still its done now. here is hoping to continuing feeling better. FOR ALL OF US. x

According to the advice on the Barts Blog, some people with MS were involved in the trials, but unclear if it was a significant number.

I hope everyone is enjoying a warm glow from doing what is good for society.

I had the Pfizer on Tuesday I had a sore heavy arm and a headache, today I have had the worst sudden fatigue attack I have suffered , for a very long time. It may be that it is a coincidence but I think it’s important to speak up about any possible side effects, particularly because the vaccine has been developed so quickly and has not been tested on MS patients. I’m sorry you seem to be having similar side effects to me ?? I wonder if it is a result of the vaccine or not ? Time will tell I suppose. I hope you feel better very soon . Xx

I had the Pfizer on Thursday, felt fine until very late Thursday night, started to feel sick and couldn’t sleep, Friday I still felt sick and had a really bad headache, my arm was feeling sore as well and since then I have just wanted to sleep all day but then haven’t been able to sleep at night, I just feel exhausted.
