Stress!!! 25% increase in dual fuel bill

I was paying £60 a month for dual fuel. After having solar panels fitted & a smart meter. I’m now paying £75 a month.

A 25% cost increase, when told the government was trying to help the environment & save people money.

I’m not a well paid expert, but something seems fishy!!!

My stress levels have gone through the roof.

I set the thermostat at 18 degrees max on the times I programmed. So now it turns on at any time, at 26 degrees.

Trust nobody!!!

Regards Terry

Hi Terry

We have had a letter today asking us if we want a smart meter…think I will stay as we are after reading your post.

Hope you are ok, forecast for next couple of days sounds awful so hang on tight.

Last January my supplier wanted to put my bills up from 50 a month to 78, I rang them and refused but I agreed to 65. April ish they wanted to put my bills down to 43 I know I should pay around 55 so again I rang them again and told them I would pay 50.

In January (I moved into my home in January) I will work out how much I have used in the two years I have lived here and pay a monthly fee on the average used taking into account any debit or credit on my balance.

I love my smart meter I know exactly how much my fuel is costing me daily, it’s stops me using my tumble drier as much.

After watching some Digger Dawn videos on YouTube. My worries about bills have gone out the window.

A women metal detecting. Finding worthless coins in a field of cow dung. Hilarious!

Avoid the PC society ASAP.

Best regards Terry Techno.

Thanks for that tip Terry - I haven’t laughed so much in ages!

We all need some ‘Digger Dawn’ in our lives.

my friends bill went up with solar panels.

I only have electric and use 16.00 a month on electric, but more on ultra broadband, phone and mobile lol.

I dont have a cooker, not allowed to use one, so live on halogen, and microwaves, oh yeh and errrrr I dont have a T.V. in my sitting room, i rather just watch my now tv, netflix and amazon prime on my laptop.

tight bottom my family call me llol. living in sheltered accommodation my gas is paid for weekly into my rent.

so i am toasty if i need to be. but i rarely have heating on.

both my daughters have smart meters they love them as they show you exactly what items are costing you the money. surprisingly one of them is the KETTLE. so being tight fisted i now only boil it once and put water in a flask for when i want a coffee.

Hey ho, why give my money to energy providers i say lol.
