Still not diagnosed

Results from my last MRI came yesterday and no signs of active inflammation in brain or spine which is of course good, but no more answers to why I am having the symptoms I have. I got the results in a letter from my neuro but he still wants a new scan a year from now, just to be on the safe side as he puts it…This is what he said last time so why do I need one more??? I’m so sick of having unexplained symptoms but I have an appointment on the 9th of April and I have to ask relevant questions cause I really don’t think they care about the symptoms I’m having and I also have more and new symptoms since August last year like tremor and sudden pain on left side of my face…

If anyone has any good questions in store that I can ask my neuro feel free to share…I just feel so not understood…

Hello

Could it be Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) rather than MS? See: https://fndhope.org/

Or it possible that it’s some other neurological problem? If there is no inflammation occurring in the brain or spine, then is continuing to have MRIs (and therefore keeping the worry alive in your head) a good idea?

I’m not suggesting that you should stop consulting the neurologist, just thinking about other options. And maybe it’s a way of asking him/her to think about what else could be causing your symptoms.

It must be very dispiriting to keep on having symptoms, keep seeing doctors, having MRIs and still having no answers.

Hi, I´ve asked about what can cause symptoms like this earlier but they kind of look at me as we don’t really know and if your scans don’t tell us we won’t investigate further…They haven’t actually said so but the feeling I just get…Anyway I’ll be sure to ask that very question about why keep on doing mri if they think something else is causing my symptoms…I’ll bring my husband this time because I have a problem actually saying to doctor’s how I’m truly feeling because I don’t want to sound like a hypocondriac…

I don’t know anything about FND but thanks for the tip…I’ll just try to get answers as to what is causing my sensations or whatever and what they think I should do about it…Last time I saw the neuro he said to me that “you fulfill some of the ms-criteria but not all, which isn’t necessary, but you’re a bit to healthy” and this is because, I think ,I run alot but I also get more fatigue and aches when I try to keep a running schedule which also makes me have to take longer breaks from running than before…

Well what will be will be and honestly I don’t feel as discouraged today as the other day because maybe I won’t get any worse than I am and that’s the most improtant thing-I just have to have the energy to keep on asking the doctor’s for answers or give up and hope for the best…
