Dear all PPMS’S
I have today started Started taking steroid Methylprednisolone today for my numbness never taken steroids before I am takimng 100mg 5 a day for 5 days have any of you taken this and did it work.

Yes I’ve had it through an I’VE drip on a few occasions followed by tablets, it did help slightly but I guess everyone is different and it may work really well for you, so worth a try.

Hi Cindy, I had them a couple of months ago for the first time and I’m afraid to say they made me rather unwell. However, I have heard that some people have marvellous results with them so I hope you’re one of those and your numbness improves.

The numbness is still there but now can’t stand up striaight both legs going into spasm till I bend knees I hate MS.

I have always been told that steroids are a waste of time for us PPMSers. Apparently, they only speed up recovery from a relapse (if they work) that would happen anyway in time and do nothing to alter the long term course of condition.
I hope you get the improvement you seek.
Oh dear Cindy. 
I would give it a little longer and see how it goes. Apparently, they stay in your system for a while and may take some time to ‘kick in’.
