Good evening all.
I have a spc fitted while most days are good (pain free) but having to turn the tube is becoming unbearable and my last change had me screaming and begging the nurse to stop,my next change is on Thursday,to say I’m dreading it is a understatement,I have been prescribed some strong pain killers to help,I have had the site investigated and they had no answer as why. Has anyone else had similar problems if so what did you find helpful.

Hi Laura, I am also due for an spc change on Thursday.
I never turn my tube…I just give it checks for twisting.
I have it changed every 4 weeks. How long do you go between changes?
I sometimes get an ooooo feeling, but it doesnt hurt exactly. Taking deep breaths whilst it is being removed and a new one inserted helps.

Maybe you need it done more often.
Just to add, I give the site a thorough wash every morning in the shower and then carers clean it again with Senset cleansing foam, which I get on prescription. I also wear a dressing over it. If they see any redness, they apply a touch of Sudocreme.
