Showering and symptoms

Hi, I just wanted to ask. I have my neurologist appointment coming up. And there is an odd sensation iv been having iv now logged consistently for weeks. So I say I have attacks of these odd feelings and tiredness etc all at once usually. However consistently when I come out the shower, my hands are always numb or tingling. Like a good 30/40 mins after each time. Is this something anyone else has noticed and iv decided to log it as a symptom although seems very isolated. Was just wondering if this is an worthwhile mention. Elle x

Hi, I’m very new and have just received my diagnosis so I am by no means knowledgable so please take this with a pinch of salt! But I also noticed feeling awful after showers and after a bit of Googling lots of people were talking about heat sensitivity. I’ve really noticed a difference if I have a cooler shower rather than my usual super hot one!
I hope that helps, but as I say, there will be more knowledgeable people who may be able to explain more! X

Take a cooler shower as a lot of us with MS can not cope with heat as it brings fatigue on, and other symptoms until we cool down again. The hot bath test was a way they used many years ago to test for MS.When i started with the MS i just could not understand that every time i had a bath i felt ill for about 30 minutes after. Then i read about the hot bath test.

Hello! I’ve only been diagnosed with CIS very recently… I too have have serious numbness after showers. I have also had sensitive skin with a pins and needles feeling or cold water feels like it’s burning hot! I can’t really answer wether this is normal or not, but I appreciate knowing someone out there feels this and confirms I’m not insane. Please let me know if you’ve felt any other strange sensation after showers.

thank you

High heat swells the brain exasibates my symptoms. For example I can’t use saunas, used to love them, now I smell one and want to pass out haha. I find always trying to keep cool helps me but yes anything hot for me makes things worse. I just always put it down to brain swelling but I’m sure their is an actual scientific reason
