Hi folks,
Has anyone found any shoe makes that are good. I am past caring what they look like. Basically I have leg spasticity and has lost my own shock absorbtion. Good comfortable shoes are a must.

I love ARA lace ups. I have a lovely pair of red ones. The sole is slightly built up so they are not totally flat. Light as a feather and the sole extends up the toe slightly so when the foot scuffs it doesn’t ruin the shoe. Just bought another pair. GEOX are light and comfortable but the soles are usually thin so not a lot of bounce. Hush Puppies sometimes have nice ones but I have found the ARA ones have the best ‘bounce’. Trial and error though as my heart still follows the side of the shop where all the beautiful shoes are not the comfortable ones.
Have you looked at the Cosyfeet or Padders websites.
Hotter shoes have built up insoles which seem to support my feet in all the right places and good shock absorption soles. I also like Reiker shoes and some of the Earth Spirit range depending on what the insoles are like. It’s a matter of trial and error sometimes, some of Earth Spirit shoes have textured insoles which sets off the buzzing in my feet worse than ever!

I’m also a hotter shoes gal, they are so light so the best thing I’ve found to contend with the foot drop. Also, I own a couple of pairs and there’s been no blisters/rubs etc. despite wearing them on bare feet.

Hotters have a sale on sandals just now buy one get second half price. It is trial and error really I want a pair that looks slightly cool. I’m 31 and don’t want to look like a granny. Xx

l have two pairs of Hotters - pretty pink and an apple green - not too flat and with a velcro strap across. Bought them in a sale at half price. The innersoles are shaped to help your balance and are super comfy. l am also a big fan of Clarks. Their online site is brilliant - often have price reductions - they, like Hotter, also do half sizes. And they do free postage and returns. l have two pairs of their nubuck trainer type WAVE shoes. These have special shaped soles that help with walking.

Thanks Frances, I also find a slight heal is best. I have a pair of wave walking boots and they are good. A bit too clumpy for smart ware.

Hi there. Just thought I would add my experience of Crocs.
Due to reducing mobility and loss of sensation in my feet , I discovered Crocs about 18 months ago and find them amazingly comfortable. I’m not talking about the "clog " type Crocs, which I do’nt like ( especially as my feet are a size 9 ! ) but their website is full of many different styles. I have about four different pairs now and I’m often asked where I got them from and people do’nt believe when I say they are Crocs.
The inner sole is textured and seems to help me amazingly with how I walk…I cannot do without them now, they can take a while to get used to but then you just do’nt want to wear anything else !
They can seem expensive but they often have offers and I’ve found the customer service excellent, I would recomend anyone taking a look.

I wear M&S shoes and sandles, they come in half sizes and wider fittings which suit my toe off brace. Also foot glove ones which have soft lining.
Also in the summer I can wear fitflops as they stay on my weak foot ok.
