Seen my GP

She is lovely, I love her and her family to bits, when I used to go to church I used to see them all so I know them all. Monday I saw her she dropped in to see me and a bit of a chinwag. I said how funny because I aimed to telephone you tomorrow and then we discussed how I was feeling. The pains in my legs are my real problem, it sometimes just feels as if every nerve in my legs wants to stab me with needles very sharp pointy hurty painfully nasty needles. I am living on painkillers, zapain. I can’t take tramadol it binds me up and these zapain are quiet strong (wordcheck got salamander from zapain it must be drunk). Well to cut a long story short I went back on to amitriptyline. Today after two lots I have had the runs, and terrible stomach cramps. Virtually a whole day wrecked by bowells I should have known it happens with all tablets I take. I tried amitriptyline about five years ago and thought they might work this time. But no. Every drug I try every blooming one. My body is at war with all the drug companies offerings. So back to needles and pinz anyone remember that record?

Night folks I am going to download a book and try and forget my legs.

Hello Don, I feel so sorry for you…what with those pins and needles and the awful tablets giving you the runs its a miracle that you can laugh about it. I remember the song don’t know who sang it but i remember it… Its funny i have ll kinds of songs coming into my head that i often relate to how im feeling…The advert years ago for soft mints is one of my favourites…it was something like " Oh Mister Soft, do you know the world you live in is so soft " and the scene was so much how i feel in a Mr soft wobbling in a soft white cloudy world…well at least thats how i remember it. Another Favourite is ā€œDizzy dizzy dinosaursā€ a theme tune to a childrens Tv program.

I wonder if anyone else has these daft tunes ???

It was The Searchers.

I had to run away and get down on my knees and pray
That they’d go away But still they begin
Needles and pins.

Hello Don.

I get the legs on fire as well. They always feel cold. The temperature was in the mid twenties at the weekend and I was sitting under a blanket. I have not asked for any medication. I’ve only just got my bowels back on track and do not want to compromise that. So I’m left with pills for blood pressure and depression. I’m also trying to get out more.

I’ve been seeing my GP quite a bit trying to get the blood pressure pills right. I also know him from drinking at the same local (when I could). It really helps and he doesn’t lecture me about the recommended guidelines for weekly alcohol consumption.

Best wishes, Steve.

Hi Don, I have started using a cannabinoid medicine that is perfectly legal and sold on Amazon.

It is made from the cannabis plant but has the stuff that makes you high (and the stuff that makes it illegal) taken out.

Here’s a link that explains it:

I got mine on Amazon from a company called Botanicals and Herbs. It was Ā£16 something for 1250 mg and with p&p was about Ā£20. This is a great price as much more expensive in the shops.

It really, really relaxes me and also helps with pain. Worth giving it a go! It’s basically the same as the one, name I can’t remember, begins with S, that NICE wouldn’t licence for MS.

Now I’ve got Needles and Pins stuck in my head! So here’s one to get stuck in your head…Poison Ivy!

These daft tunes that stick are apparently called ear worms. The only cure is to replace one with another…

I am sat here reading these posts, whilst singing needles and pins by the lovely Searchers lol

Of course, what we are all doing now…,.is showing our age by knowing these songs…but who cares…none of us.

Pat, I am going to have a read of the link, thanks, and hope you are doing OK.

I loved The Searchers Pins and Needles but my ear worm today is Moondance, Van Morrison or Micheal Buble…not sure which one of them is in my head!
