Ron Swank

Hi

Looking into food in relation to ms I have heard of various diets. Came across this man Ron Swank and he sends amazing. Anyone follow his diet ( or any other diet) I would welcome your views

thank you

The OMS diet builds on the work done by Swank and is worth checking out to see if it suits you. A decent diet should improve general health, which can only be a good thing.

Food intolerance can be a problem for some, so keeping a food diary is a good idea.

Hi thank you for your helpful replies everyone. I am looking into the diet Holly

i found the OMS diet way too complicated. I do my own which seems to be working ok for me. Its down to healthy choices versus processed.

loads of fruit, veg, fish and chicken no fats fried food or high in sugar.

I cant even eat lagumes which i am sure is recommended in OMS diet.

I eat lots of good quality salads, bean salads (no soya). I have rediscovered low fat cottage cheese which is high in calcium, and also baked potatoes lol. so many good things to eat but still be healthy. no diet is going to cure MS but a good diet can make the journey with it a bit more bearable. I would never give up eggs, i only eat them occasionally but they are very healthy for humans.

I have gone gluten free as much as i can as i find gluten makes my stomach swell. I am sensitive to it.

I had a full blood test done on all things i am sensitive too and i avoid.

Hidden sugars also are a nightmare and i am lower in carbohydrates. I always start with my special K immune cereal. full of goodies. i dont drink moo milk but i drink fortified KOKO. it has vitimin D and b12. I am never hungry. I gave my OMS book away as honestly it was just tooooo much for me to grasp lol. I DONT think avoiding dairy is good actually as things like yoghurts are high in calcium which i need as an older person. I always make sure they are low in fat and low in sugar (max 4.5g).

i cut my plate down and have lost a good steady weight. I have a lot more energy as well. oh and my BP is actually going down woo hoo.
