Hi everyone, just wondered can anyone advise me, can worsened fatigue that lasts for weeks be a relapse. I’ve had a busy xmas and new year followed by a cold and a bit of bad family news, no new symptoms but an increase in fatigue, it’s really bad by evenings, worst its been and its over a week now. I’m starting to feel really down now as its stopping me excercising and I’m already depressed about my weight problem.
Hi I too have suffered with bad fatigue after Christmas. I had a cold just before, had everyone to my house and generally pushed it till I broke. After a bit of feeling sorry for myself and feeling swallowed up by fog I took some steps to get me back up and running. First was to accept the power house in me has gone and I need to charge my batteries regularly. So I took a step back, stopped punishing myself that I hadn’t been to the gym since Nov and have realised the importance of rest. I have started taking lunch breaks, make sure I only do my hours and spoken to my bosses so they understand that to keep me in the office everyday I need to stop when I’m feeling a bit fuzzy. I’m telling myself that ok I could do with shaking off half a stone but hey everything is working so my body isn’t letting me down. I think it’s a mental thing first to come to terms with then some self pampering that gets you back on track. Look after yourself and learn to say no when the world wants too much from you. Good luck! X
Thanks for that, I really do need to say no and pace myself more effectively, I realise now as we that I have to stop beating myself up about what I can no longer do. I just need to get some motivation from somewhere to hit my weight problem head on which is difficult when you can’t think of alternatives to physical excercise to use, anyone any ideas??? Ps I don’t overeat and what I eat is healthy
I used to run and do high impact classes but they render me useless by about Wednesday. My new thing is Pilates. You would not believe that listening to calming music and just holding yourself in one position would still give you the gym ache a day later. I’m told that strengthing your major muscles makes the smaller ones tone up too so give it a go.
Sounds like a good one to try, thanx
Yes, fatigue can be a symptom of a relapse. For me, it is the only relapse symptom I get.
Beforc Copaxone, and just after I started on the stuff, a relapse was extreme fatigue for a week - that’s extreme as in not even having the energy to pick up a book (let alone turn the pages).
Fast forward nearly two years, and a spell of fatigue that was not extreme, but lasted for about three weeks. Thought nothing of it (there were other factors that could have accounted for it) then got up one morning and “wow” - no fatigue (and most of the other factors were still there). Have to discus this with the MS Nurse in a few weeks, because it is relevant to something else, but I do believe that it is the Copaxone delivering what it says on the tin. I may be wrong, of course.

Thanx Geoff gives me hope that if it is relapse perhaps could have bin worse so not to fret and if its not then it could equally disappear or lessen. Hope yours doesn’t come back and the copaxone keeps doing its job
