Relapse or Not??

Good Morning All,

I feel like i’m going round in circles at the moment, trying to get some answers to my current symptoms. I am having seizures, but I am still concious at the time. They are scary and make me feel so strange!

This started early Dec and I first thought it was stress related, until they slowly got worse to the point of having 5 in one day at times.

I spoke to my MS nurse who suggested I see my GP, my GP then said I need to see a neuro and as i’m already seeing a neuro it should be him. Luckily I have an appointment with him in Feb!

I just wondered if anyone has had seizures, was this due to a relapse, epilepsy, medication?

Any thoughts or info will be greatly appreciated

Hi I had what I thought was a seizure in my sleep during my first and only relapse. I woke upquickly in the night feeling slightly nauseus. My massive relapse was in Jan - May. I also expereienced the same in December, but still feel I am recovering from the relapse… My neuro knows about it is not concerned. I guess he thinks its all part of the MS. Hopefully your neuro will be able to help you xxx

My doctor contacted my neuro and luckily his brought my appointment forward a couple of weeks. Hopefully I will get some answers as to why this is happening.

I am now having tingling and numbness in my face, unsure whether this is related to the seizures i.e a relapse

i have what you describe and told my neuro,he said that you dont remember seizures,and i can,remember them happening

so he said mine were probaly caused by migraines with no headache.as i told him, i didnt always get headache with it, they are so horrible.

Thank you for replying MrsJ, sorry to hear your having the experience, they are really horrible!

There are seizures called simple partial seizures (informed by GP) and you are able to remember them. So hard to explain how I feel but its like an intense feeling of de ja vu, like ive left the room and gone elsewhere. I can still hear etc but unable to respond properly, I feel confused and so drained afterwards and cannot remember at all what I was thinking about even though it feels so real at time, like a dream. I’ve never experienced something so strange and can be left feeling quite scared. I did think it may of been stressed related when they started, but then they increased to a point now that im having about 3 per week! The worst was when I had a temp over xmas and had 5 in one day!

Hopefully I get some answers, be relieving to know im not losing the plot because it defiantly can feel like that!
