Relapse and confusing dx

Okay, so a few months ago I had a relapse, a bunch of new symptoms (including facial neuralgia) and the registrar of the autoimmune clinic sent me to see the MS nurse, physio etc. He said they don’t want to put me on disease modifying drugs because I am having fertility treatment/trying for a baby and because no lesions showed in my MRI’s.

So I am confused… I am using the MS nurse, have been told I am eligible to apply for treatment (like more weeks of neurophysio) through charities like the MS Society so do I have MS or not?

An MS diagnosis can only be made if there’s enough evidence to support it, and going on what you’ve said in your post, it doesn’t sound as if the diagnostics currently reflect that.

It can be a bit of a waiting game I’m afraid. On the other hand, you may not have MS at all.

Either way, disease modifying drugs aren’t an option if you’re trying for a baby.
