Hi Everyone
Since early 2015 I have had on and off symptoms which could maybe relate to MS. My previous GP referred me to a neurologist where I had an MRI and everything came back clear. Since I have changed GP and my new GP has referred me to Rheumatology about my symptoms. I was wondering if anybody had had been through the same.
Thanks in advance.
Hi - I was diagnosed with MS in 2012 and was surprised when last year I was referred to a Rheumatalogist (at the time this puzzled me). However, as some of my blood tests (ANA & double stranded DNA)were positive, which is typical of people with lupus, this needed to be investigated. I wasn’t showing enough evidence though for lupus, so it has thankfully been ruled out for now, but I guess they’ll keep an eye on me. You can have both MS and lupus. MS is difficult to diagnose and mimics other health issues, so they will check everything. If you have copies of letters from specialists, then have a look at the blood test results, as this may give you a clue. Hope they find out what’s wrong, as it is easier to deal with something when you know what you’re dealing with. Good luck and let us know the outcome.
Thanks for replying muddles. I did have blood tests a couple of weeks ago which all came back clear. My GP said she will refer me to be seen. I hope i get some answers. Thanks
