I have been earmarked for potential redundancy (along with 75 of my colleagues). I have my first individual consultation next week with my line manager and HR (on TEAMS, not in person). The stress of the situation has been exaggerating some of my symptoms (mainly slurred speech and cognition). I’m terrified I will make a fool of myself and it will go against me. I’m also not very good at controlling my emotions and I suspect I may cry which won’t look very professional. Any advice?
Hi Jacquig
So sorry to her about the threat of redundancy, so stressful for you.
Can you have someone in the room with you to give you moral support?
Take notes and if you have any questions, write them on post it notes and stick them round your screen.
Have a glass of water if you have a slight wobble, just take a sip, give yourself time to compose yourself.
Thinking of you,
Take care
Jen

Thank you Jen. I do have someone coming in the TEAMS mtg with me and I’ve warned them I might slur or cry
My line manager who is conducting the 1-2-1 is also aware I have MS but will not be aware of my cognitive symptoms as I normally manage to keep them hidden.
