Hi Guys Friday I had a home visit from two people, one was a lovely lady Claire from the Physio dept at the hospital, the another a guy from the chair manufactures, they brought in a sample chair for me to try, wow fantastic, it’s electric with a control touch pad for me to operate, it will allow me to raise from seating to a height where I can easily get to my walker,( without the need of my husband) poor guy I’m sure he will put his back out if he has to help me up much longer, anyway back to the chair, it also reclines and lifts my legs up, and even lays me almost flat to allow me to have a sleep, on those days were fatigue gets me,they took my measurements so it can be tailor made for me, I should be with me by the end of the month, and it will not cost me a penny. Sorry to go on about it, but when the NHS works it’s fantastic. LOL Deborah
That’s fantastic Deborah ! Good luck with it…let us know how you get on with it when it arrives. Nina x
Hi Deborah… I call mine Big Bertha. Wouldn’t live without it. I spent so much more time in bed before I got it… really fantastic thing to have. Pat xx
I have one and I love it, I am sure you will like it and your husband will enjoy it as well. My grandsons fight over using it but they rarely use the stairlift which I would have thought would be a must use but it maybe its too slow for them.
Brilliant, it brings a tear to my eye when I hear the NHS do care enough to supply such equipment for someone to have a better quality of life, I hope you have endless comfortable times in it. I myself have received equipment to aid my independence, I am now not getting my weekly visits from O.T and physio and missing it, I must remember to send my thank you messages to them, they helped me be strong and accepting of my condition.

I second you there Pauline. My OT came a fortnight ago and I now have a sturdy banister up my staircase which curves back on itself leaving very dangerous triangular steps in the middle. Feel much safer. They really are wonderful. Just waiting for the grant for my posh loo now.

I so agree, OT’s are lovely and really do make a huge difference to our lives.
Virtual round of applause to all OT’S.
