psoriasis

Psoriasis is my second Auto Immune condition.

I never realised how painful it could be!

For the last 2 days it has woken me up.

It is like the most unbearable itch that goes really deep, almost to the bone.

I’m feeling way too sorry for myself, so slap some Diprobase on it and slap myself for the self pity!

Straighten your lip missus!

My husband has had Psoriasis since we met (he always says it was the shock of being a married man that set it off!)

Unfortunately for him, it quickly developed into Psoriatic Arthritis which is extremely painful.

Regarding the skin itching, he has found that Aloe Vera gel is quite good, as is wearing only cotton fibres, but yes, he says that sometimes he wants to dig in to the root of the itch which he said seems to come from his bones sometimes. Interestingly, reducing his dairy intake seems to have helped also x

Theres some interesting stuff on the net about the link between MS & Psoriasis.

I had terrible Psoriasis as a child.

Thank you Minnie, I have some aloe vera from when I was on holiday (remember those?).

I requested Betnovate and was also given Diprobase which is an emollient and very soothing.

Thank you Jactac.

My sister had severe psoriasis at 17 yrs. She was admitted to Salford skin hospital where they covered her in coal tar and dressed them with bandages. It worked and has never come back.

Interesting articles but my eyes are too tired so will read them tomorrow.

Thanks!

Apparently close relatives to someone with MS is very common.

Isn’t it mad how the whole gene/body thing works !

Yep! Jactac it certainly is weird to the point of freaky!

My favourite aunt has Rheumatoid Arthritis which has had a devastating effect on her.

So that’s 3 family members with auto immune troubles.

Well, I didnt know Rheumatoid Arthritis was an auto immune illness.

Both my mother and father had that .

There’s a whole host of A.I. diseases.

One lovely lady who used to come onto this forum appears to be collecting them.
