Progression

Morning all

I was DX 10 years ago. I had a couple of bad relapses early on, but for the most part things stayed relatively steady.

But, over the last 18 months, the fatigue, neuralgia, parathesia, etc., has gotten worse, and I’ve just finished steroids after my legs became weaker and the hug showed itself. Both these things were resolved with the roids, but I’m left with debalitating fatigue.

Having not been on steroids for so long, do they take a while to treat fatigue, or does this mean that this fatigue is my new normal? How long do you wait before discussing meds with nurse/neuro to treat fatigue? I run my own business, just me, so there’s no-one to pick up the slack.

I have neuro appt in 6 weeks, to discuss DMTs, which I wasn’t really ready to do before, but I am now.

I have just had my first ever relapse 4 weeks ago today and at its worst my right side was completely gone, bladder etc. Was given oral steroids for 5 days and on day 4 I started to feel things move a little. I am now much better albeit slower but gp says steroids will be in body for 3 months or so. I am currently just over breast cancer nd awaiting to start radiotherapy so the timing of the relapse was pants to say the least. See my neurologist in nov and although I would like to start a dmd I do not know if I can with the otherc ancer meds?? Horrible time but hopefully things will settle. I have had ms for 7.5 years. Take Care. xx

So sorry to hear what both of you are going through - sending sympathy and virtual hugs. Particularly for MrsChicca2016, maybe you should look at this

The ms nurse rang today and said although I have had a relapseI will not be getting a mri as the only reason they would scan me was if I was thinking of dmd’s. She said I would not be getting dmd as they supress immune system and because of the cancer treatment they would not allow dmd’s for me just now. Hope you okay xxx
