Hi I am 5.5 weeks pregnant. Never felt better! Was just wondering if anyone had any experience and how they coped with the pregnancy and what happend after the birth? Thanks x
Hi Leanne, I have had MS for 12 years although only Dx fairly recently. Had no MS symptoms at all during my 1st pregnancy - daughter is 3.5 now, relapsed when she was a month old then had a few more over the next couple of years, got pregnant again with my son, absolutely fine again through the whole pregnancy, had a relapse 6 months after. So pregnancy suited me really well, my MS symptoms went completely - even the fatigue, almost makes me want to do it again lol… Take care Kate xx
Thanks Katie. Lol yes it’s great isn’t it! Feel normal. This will be my second, I have a 2 year old but was only diagnosed last year. Tho had symptoms for years. Did you give up Meds before trying? I was on copaxone but was told to stop when I conceive. Did you go straight back on Meds? My neuro wants me to start gilenya after delivery/ breast feeding. Sorry for all the questions but there is not much info out there. X
I wasn’t on DMD’s anyway by choice. I was already on a lot of meds as I am also Bipolar so immediately came off all my meds when I found out I was pregnant both times and did really well. I breastfed for 8 months both times, had 2 mild relapses since my 13 month old was born and am considering starting Copoxone now purely because I can’t manage 2 little ones very well when I’m relapsing. I think the longer you can breastfeed the better, something to do with the Oxytocin your body produces. Kate xx
I didn’t know I had ms but my marriage had just split up I’d lost tons of weight was struggling to breastfed full time and I’d had symptoms for a month got told to stop breast feeding had a huge relapse. Breast feeding def seems to help x
I had my baby 2 weeks ago im in hospital as had such a severe relapse
Meant to congratulations as well x
Hi. I had a development of new symptoms in pregnancy … numbness in left arm. But overall good pregnancy. Great birth but went wrong after as I haemorrhaged … lost nearly 8pints of blood so really am lucky to be here. I couldn’t breastfeed because of the blood loss. Had very high blood pressure and was poorly. However amazingly after all that I didn’t relapse. Had baby 2009 and next relapse was nov 2010 … treated with steroids. I’ve had a few since and I’m on rebif now but overall doing okay. Not having anymore kiddies though. good luck hun xxxx
Thanks for all of your replies! Much appreciated. Catmummy sorry to hear your in hospital. Hope you get better soon xxx
