please help im really scared

Hi,

My vision is seeing things, odd things that keep appearing, sometimes dots and sometimes bigger things. Im trying not worry me but its not easy.

Will this pass,its awul

Christine I often see movement out of the corner of my eyes, get blurred and double vision. My optician suspected I had ms before I was diagnosed because of it. He described what was happening as due to the signals between my eyes and brain not being sent and processed together and properly which is apparently very common in ms. To help with this he put prisms in my glasses’ lenses so that both of my eyes will look at the same object as they’ll both gravitate to the clearest viewpoint. It helps but my eyes play up much more when I’m tired.

It may be worth a check up just to make sure but I know many people on here have visual disturbances. You shouldn’t leave it though as there could be something else going on. Please let us know how you get on.

Hi Christine

I get blurred vision, and sometimes out of the side of my eye it looks like something moving, butt there is never anything there, really makes Mme jjump though, in case it’s a mouse.

I also get a block of colour, usually blue or green, and everything I look at looks that colour. All very weird, but always worse when I am fatigued.

Caths suggestion of seeing the optician is good, I would do that, may put your mind at rest.

Not very good typing, tremor bad today.

Hi Christine, I totally get it. I also see things or movements coming in from either the left or the right. In fact I have jump as if something as scared me but there is no one there. Me son says I am scared of my own shadow but honestly I see things or movement at least. More recently my depth perception has been a problem, misjudging the space between me and the window, causing me to ban my head. Same with shelves, I bend down and hit my head. I mentioned it to the optician who said that my perception is out, so I am being referred to a neuropthamologist. I will let you know how I get on. In the meantime don’t sit worrying get it checked out. LouLou x

Thanks Cath,

Im alot calmer now but this afternoon i was in panic mode. Before today iv seen odd things out the corner of my eye, this scared me because there were alot of things, like a flock of birds. I did feel reassured as it only happened when i moved m eyes and thought it it was anything serious i would see them all the time. They have eased o a little now thankfully. I have neuro appointment on friday and will mention this to him.

Panic over for now

Christine

Thanks Pam,

Sometimes i think im plodding along ok and can handle this and then today panic took over, not a good feeling as you probably know. Its the fear of the unkown i guess and what will happen next.

It help just to hear that other have experienced similar things.

I will update when i have seen neuro on friday.

I have an appointment with Orthoptics tomorrow after seeing eye casualty last week. Basically, my eyes don’t always face the same direction, if he’s stood to my right and I don’t turn my head, my eyes struggle to focus - my poor husband is actually laughing usually but I know he’s worried. Right now I think an eye-patch would be good as it sometimes just gets too jumbled!

Do you have an eye casualty at your local hospital? I called & explained it wasn’t an ‘emergency’ as such and they booked me an appointment

Hope all’s ok

Hi Sonia,

Not at my local hospital no, would have to travel I think it might be something to do with when i try to focus my eyes as when eyes are still they are fine.

I have had all kinds of things, spider webs, water falls, all sort of things, the neuro said part of it was my ON and the other could be migraine with aura, so no headache.

You should talk to your GP really anything to do with vision. xx

I know i should crazychick but my doctor seems out of her depth with most things i go with plus the optician wrote tp me GP and they took no action. If neuro on friday has concerns im hoping he will refer me.

Oops just wrote big long reply and kindle shut itself down, lost it all.

I have had a few episodes of eye problems, double vision twenty years ago caused me to go to opticians and get glasses. Recently had bright lights in eyes even when shut and I can’t have Christmas light on in a darkend room my eye’s just flip.

Hope you get it sorted, if you are unhappy about your GP change, life is to short to be worried about it.
