Hello I’m just wondering how many people get personal independence payment for mobility and work? And what does assessment involve.
Hi,
Lots of people on here get DLA. A few new claimants are getting PIP but I would guess that most people are still on DLA.
You asked about mobility and work. PIP has got nothing to do with work – you can get it if you are employed or not. It is to do with your daily care and mobility needs.
First you fill in a form and then most people are called for a face to face “medical” (it may not be with a doctor) Many of us have joined a website called Benefits and Work. It cost about £20.00 p/a They have excellent guides to help you fill in the form with the best information to make a successful application.
Phone the DWP at 0800 917 2222 to get started. You will need basic information to hand (like NI number) They may offer to do the form on the phone. I would not advise this. You need time to ponder the questions and frame your answers. Ask for the form to be sent out to you.
