A quote from the latest newsletter from http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/
“we have the unsurprising news that PIP is turning into another grand DWP failure, with the intended 20% savings compared to DLA now being predicted to be just 5%. After the costs of the PIP assessment regime and additional appeals are taken into account, the final savings are likely to be tiny”
Whoever would have thought it??

And surely it must cost them even more in the long run because people are being reassessed more often I know I am already worrying about next year as I will be going through the process for the 3 rd time in 5 years , just printing that paperwork must cost a fortune . Katy
3 times in 5 years? Now how on earth can that save money? Not to mention the toll it takes on you…

when I was first on dla, i had to re-apply every 3 years…did anyone have to re-apply yearly?

I would love to be a fly on the wall when these governments have their think tanks lol…because who ever decides to change these things must live in cloud cuckoo land. How can it save money. Just changing the processess would be an immense cost. The issues which will or would go wrong, all the new paperwork, the appeals it goes on and on and I bet you they will find they LOOSE money over this.
Idiots. They dont have a clue.
Took me eighteen months to get my first award so then that was revived last year till 2018 but she said that they would start the process again June 2017 . Can’t wait .
In 2010 I was initially assessed as having lowest level DLA and IB. At the tribunal this was reset to highest level for both, without a time limit to be reassessed .
I’ve just read the Sunday Times article that Maximus (which replaced ATOS) cost £589 million and that 10% of it’s reports were rejected by the government as below standard. Whereas ATOS only had 1 in 25 reports rejected.

The simple truth is that this Government are making changes because they want to, and not because they need to. Why on earth do we need to be assessed by someone who invariably knows nothing about MS, when we have already been diagnosed by a fully qualified Neurologist, as having a progressive and incurable condition. If that’s not an unnecessary waste of money, I don’t know what is.
Still, at least the filthy rich can describe us as benefit scroungers, while carefully avoiding paying tax by the use of offshore tax havens.
Yes Dave, that means you too.
