PIP assessment from hell.

Bombard them with evidence & keep a record of evrything - when I was first turned down I caled them silent assassins and i was right - if there ever is a next time I will be a different kettle of fish

Same here anon.I have not been under a consultant since he changed my MS from secondary progressive to BENIGN MS.I told him i did not agree with him at all and said him saying that made my old retired neuro look a bit silly!!! i was diagnosed RRMS many years ago but after a massive relapse in 2005 of which i didn’t fully recover and i got more and more symptoms. My old neuro said i had moved on to SPMS which i agreed. But then this new so called MS specialist took over and decided to change my MS to benign!!! whatever the heck that is supposed to mean is beyond me.I told him i was not going to see him again as i did not agree with him at all.I have lost faith in the medical proffession.I didn’t have much to start with after loosing my husband due to neglect by the NHS.I kept telling our GP that my husband needed to go to hospital as he was very unwell, they didnt listen to me and after telling 4 drs at our practice and not one of them listening a locum dr had him rushed in to hospital where he died a week later! I also was never listened to when i started being ill and kept going back to the drs telling them i knew i had something wrong with me.I was told i was being hysterical by one neuro lol.I told him one day someone might listen. They did nearly 10 yr later when i had an MRI and lumber puncture, and there was my proof.I don’t hold out any hope for PIP at all.I have no dr on my side .I also fear my ESA will be stopped too,if so i will loose around Ā£900 a month with no PIP or ESA and i will be housebound but no one gives a damn.I hate the way this corrupt govt make us all out to be liars. The only reason PIP was brought out was to get as many people as possible off DLA.I have had to fight for years and i am too unwell now to fight anymore.I have made a rod for my own back as i have just got on with my MS and my relapses too.I didn’t see any point in bothering drs as i never wanted steroids for them, even though i have had some severe ones.

Stick with it, I appealed and got it all back. The appeal panel ask relevant and necessary questions (not the ā€˜trip you up’ kind)

My opinion is that you should always be prepared to challenge a decision that is blatantly wrong and made by an unqualified civil servant under orders to save the government money.

Always have your facts, figures and reasons to hand.

Go for it.
