Phsio not enough

Hi.having nhs pysio at the moment. I would like psysio more aimed at my issues. I feel nhs is very generic.
Any ideas please.

Hi Christine
I know what you mean. They like to have a chat and print out a sheet of exercises for you to try at home. A sports massage isn’t appropriate either.

Go to an Osteopath to have your joints properly exercised /manipulated :+1:

Or, if you can afford it, look for a neuro physio. Mine is fantastic!

Please, don’t get me started on physios. My GP referred me to one only a couple of weeks back. I should have realised when she said ‘the force is against you, look at Yoda’ that we were not going to get along.

Needless to say I am not going back.

Anything must be better than the printed shèets i am given.

Maybe private is the way to go.

Hahaha they can’t really have said that! That is very unprofessional and not really encouraging.

My Osteopath charges £50 for a full 45 mins (appts 60 mins apart) and as a regular I’ve negotiated £45. Never be afraid to haggle, particularly if you’re being seen by an owner/partner in the business.

I pay £50 for a full hour (and sometimes more!) physio.

Honestly, she actually told me to look at the picture of Yoda on the wall as she said it… I think she was trying to be a bit tongue in cheek but I was not amused.

Hello
Have you got an MS Therapy Centre anywhere near you?

I go to the excellent Chilterns MS Centre and there is another in Bedford, also near me

Physios, exercise classes, yoga, pilates, oxygen treatment, social groups etc. Worth looking into if you are anywhere near one.

They operate as charities, minimal membership fees but always fundraising and looking for donations!

I hope this thought helps. Other people on here may also know of the.

Maybe your GP can refer you for Physio at the hospital? At my local hospital, they have Physiotherapists that deal with conditions such as MS, Parkinsons, etc. You could ask for it anyways.

www.msntc.org. uk is the website…
