Only symptom is double vision??

Hi all, I started getting double vision late october and have since had an MRI showing suspected demyelination around right temporal lobe and both sides periventricular region. I last had a bout of double vision 8 years ago which went away on its own after 6 months (normal MRI at the time) (both times in the same left eye). The doctors are investigating for MS but i cant really pinpoint any other symptoms that cant already be explained. Its a whole month til my neurology review.

I guess my question is, could this be MS? Does anyone have any thoughts to share on similar experiences?

Thanks!

It was my second symptom rather than my first. Given my history (already suggestive of MS) it led to my MS diagnosis. I don’t think that bit’s changed: you tend to need more than one thing to have gone awry for an MS dx.

My neurologist was very emphatic about it not being MS until it’s multiple. There’s a clue in the name (as he didn’t quite say, but more or less did). But when single became multiple for me, then it was quickly confirmed as MS. But that’s just what can happen when single does become multiple. It doesn’t mean yours will.

Gosh I’ve only just seen this reply! Thank you so much for responding. I had my appointment yesterday, the neurologist confirmed the MRI showed I had MS and said it was diagnostic. I wasnt expecting him to give such a definitive response! I’ll be forwarded to a more local hospital now where I guess I will await further information and treatment

Hi there, this is how MS started with me. My right eye went in towards
My nose then I had facial drop after contacting Covid back on 2020… Doctors classed it as Bell’s palsy. My balance was deteriorating slowly which led me as if I was drunk. I decided to for an eye test at asda opticians nice lady referred me fornCT scan same day. Then seen eye specialist same day who said my 6th 7th nerve had gone behind
My eye… then was admitted to stay in hospital for further tests as in bloods and lumber punch i was given glasses with the right side having a prism film on it to help correct my double vision. Didn’t work well but helped a little. Amy way after week in hospital got send home with 500mg steriod a day tomspeedmly recovery. Then after that the MRI scans started happening then they found Lisions on
My brown then was diagnosed with MS sadly
