one For the ladies , coil removal and ms symptoms

Hi all just a quick questions has anybody had a increase in there Ms symptoms after having a coil removed ? I am due to have mine removed next week and I have this niggling thought in the back of my head .As they say that during pregnancy due to the hormones ms symptoms seem improved well I’m thinking as a coil makes your body think it is pregnant does that mean you can have a relapse like you can do after giving birth or a increase in symptoms as your hormones return to normal ? I’m probably thinking about this way to much into this lol but thought I would ask other people’s experiences , thanks  x

I had a coil that I didn’t get on with. Very heavy periods, hated the sensation when checking it was in position. Had no problems related to MS when I had it removed but I did only have it in for 3 or 4 months. Hope it goes OK.

I do not think that a normal IUD (as opposed to a Mirena) has any effect on your hormones, as such, it just makes life very difficult for those little swimmers that cause all the trouble! Do talk it through with your GP if you are concerned. Alison
