I had a lumbar puncture yesterday to get a diagnosis (even though an MRI in America confirmed I have MS). BUT today my whole body feels like its on fire. I’ve had this before mainly in my back and shoulders. This time it’s also my legs and the most intense burning feeling ever with extreme itchiness. Is this an MS trait to have burning and itching, coz it’s driving me nuts. xxx
Can’t say for sure that it’s an MS trait but unfortunately, this is something I’m all too familiar with - although I have to say that my medication (Gabapentin & Amitriptyline) deal with it for the most part, but it does go into overdrive if I overdo things, get too hot or stressed (which isn’t too often thankfully).
It’s a seriously unpleasant combination of sensations - I’ve described it as being like fire ants doing the conga up and down the left side of my body from my toes to the top of my head, the burning is bad enough but then the prickly itching kicks in as well - horrible, horrible symptom(s).
