I would be keen to know what support might be available for parents of adult children with complex needs. Sometimes we can feel so much on our own. As friends age they have problems of their own and it is difficult to find people to share complex feelings with. The main support my husband and me provide is social and mostly this is rewarding and fun. However the hospital visits and dealing with the progression of MS in those we love can be painful. I have had counselling and indeed trained as a therapist. But I would so much appreciate the support of people in similar circumstances. Our local Carers group is mostly for people caring for those with dementia which I don’t think is comparable. Please leave a message if you think it would be useful to speak with others in a similar situation. It might even be useful to produce a book or pamphlet together. Mutual support can only help us to do the best we possibly can. Thank you!
