Years ago I use to have episodes of being poorly and being stuck in bed. Severe spasms were part of this. Our cat would jump on the bed and lay across the bottoms of my legs and stop the spasms. She’d never done this before. I think animals have a lot more empathy than we realise.
Hi Jacqui I think you may well be right, at first I thought maybe it was because I was hot and she wanted heat, then I realised I wasn’t any hotter than usual, it was just the sensation. We hear of animals and their 6th sense and I think this may be part of it. Rather sweet, just hurts me. Hope you have found some relief from your spasms. Ppx

Ha ha - he’s that alright!

About 5 years ago I had such bad sunburn pain all over my thighs right across my lap area and I was positive that it was because I used to use my laptop by resting it on my lap. But when it happened to my shoulder to the extent that I had to walk around baring it because anything touching it was unbearable, I figured it was probably something more. Now I know it was MS, but I haven’t had any burning sensations as bad as they were since. X
Thanks for your reply E At first I had to feel my legs just to make sure they weren’t hot, even though I knew they weren’t if you see what I mean. I also get a burning on right shoulder blade. Just wish I had a nice healthy looking tan to go with the sensations. Ppx
True say, Pp, I used to touch the area wondering why it wasn’t hot! Only thing is, a random tan on the right shoulder blade MIGHT not look so good…

I’ve had the on off burning sensation on the soles of my feet and I’ve noticed it’s worse on days I’ve worn boots when it’s flared up. It literally feels like me feet have been plunged into hot sand and it’s burning.
Looks like this is certainly another thing that goes part and parcel with neuro problems. Sorry you’re experiencing this Polly. Hope it goes soon.

I am glad you posted about this. Last year I used to get an intense burning sensation on my left leg, a large patch well above my knee. As you describe it like sunburn. This lasted for a couple of weeks and oddly just in the evening. This went away and returned a couple of Sundays ago but this time I couldnt touch my leg too much as it was so painful, leg didn’t feel hot. So weird, I hadn’t realised this was a symptom so I have dismissed it as this is what I am used to from my GP. I also get cold wet patch feelings on my left foot. I always check if my sock is wet but it is always dry. Sam x
I had it last year and thought nothing of it as I had been in the sun. But got it again when I went to docs to find out what it could be as this time it was winter mixed with all other things I was sent for scan and them other tests and was told it was a symptom of ms. I have still got it now on and off. My cat all ways sits on my lap more tho since I have been ill she follows me every where and waits at door when I go in bathroom xx
Thanks Clare Well at least she waits at the bathroom door. My daughter comes in for a chat, no privacy or dignity here! Glad in way funny sort of way that I am not the only experiencing this type of neuropathic sensation. keep well Clare x Ppx
Hi Reemz. My feet really burn at time, millions of biting ants springs to mind…oddly can happen any time, but worse after I have eaten. That’s strange! Then at other times they feel cold and wet, have to feel socks as feels I am in a puddle. (wouldn’t be unusual given our current weather LOL) Ppx

Don’t dismiss any odd sensations as you can see from reading here that many of us get odd sensations. If you are undiagnosed let your neuro know as it may help put the pieces together. Ppx

It like I’m walking with my foot in a pail of water!
Yep mine felt like I’ve got a boot full of water thats squelching. My partners always complaining my feet and hands are cold even when it’s not cold. I’ll touch him and he’ll flinch!
