off to see the wizard

Got my appointment with the consultant coming up (october 3rd). I have a strong hunch that dmds are going to be offered because i phoned the ms nurse a while back and she went through my notes saying that the consultant had written something about tysabri as a possibility, anyway, i have some questions, any thoughts are welcome.

Is it likely that dmd will be prescribed after one visit or do i have to wait a while?

Is it possible she will be on board if i want the LDN?

Does anyone have a clue when the BG-12 will be available? to be honest bg-12 and copaxone and the only 2 that i like the sound of

That is a lot of questions, Raymond, but here goes one person’s take on them:

DMDs after one visit to neuro. Yes, quite possible. All you need is two “clinical events” separated in time and space, within two years, AND, be able to walk the required distance.

LDN - that is down to the individual nurse or neuro. None of mine have ever supported the idea when I have raised the subject. They always refer to the lack of formal trial evidence. Yours may take a different view, but “don’t hold your breath”.

BG12? Oh that’s the easy one - sometime later.

Raymond - if you go to the top of everyday living, on the right hand side there is the latest news on BG12.

It looks like it will hopefully be available next year. I am on Rebif but this new oral drug interests me greatly.

Perhaps you could discuss with the neuro your options.

Good luck
